Purified terephthalic acid is a key raw material in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin. PET resin is widely used in the manufacture of fibers for textiles, bottles for packaging, and films for various applications.
PTA is also used in the production of polyester fibers, fabrics and polyester films for packaging, automotive components, construction materials such as roofing membranes, pipes, and insulation and in the formulation of coatings, adhesives, and sealants.
