Calcium chloride is a chemical compound with various industrial, commercial, and scientific applications, including: deicing agent for roads, sidewalks, and airport runways, desiccant or drying agent in industrial processes, packaging materials, and moisture-sensitive products, concrete accelerator, drilling fluid additive and dust suppressant or soil stabilizer.


It is also used as a food additive in certain food and beverage products, including canned vegetables, cheese production, beer brewing, and food processing, to provide firmness, texture, and preservation properties.
