HEDP forms stable chelating compounds with Cu, Fe, and Zn ions in water, and shows excellent stability in high pH systems and moderate temperatures.

applications:

HEDP is commonly used as an organic scale and corrosion inhibitor for steel substrates in the metalworking and oilfield industries. It is also a common additive for industrial water treatment, and can be used as a cleaning agent for swimming pools.


Other applications include: dye fixer and sequestering agent for textile processing; industrial detergent; peroxide bleach stabilizer.
