Butoxypolyglycol (BPG) is a glycol ether used in a variety of products. It is a mixture of butoxy triethylene glycol, butoxy tetraethylene glycol, and butoxy polyethylene glycols with five or more repeating ethylene oxide units. BPG is made by reacting butanol and ethylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst to form a series of butyl glycol ethers.
