Polypropylene glycol 400 (PPG 400) is a liquid polyether compound with a variety of industrial and some pharmaceutical applications.
It's used as a solvent in inks, paints, and cleaning products. It serves as an intermediate in the production of other chemicals, such as polyurethane precursors, esters, and surfactants. It can be used as a lubricant or a component in lubricants, in some heat transfer fluid applications, hydraulic fluids and plasticizer in some polymer formulations.
In pharmaceutical formulations, it can be used as a solvent, solubilizer, and vehicle for certain drugs. In cosmetics, it can act as a humectant.
