1-Octene (C8) is a colorless Linear Alpha Olefin liquid typically made using a low-pressure ethylene oligomerization process. It is soluble in alcohol, acetone, ether, petroleum, and coal tar solvents, and is in soluble in water.

1-Octene (C8) is used in the production of synthetic fatty acids mainly used in synthetic lubricants, plasticizers, surfactants, polyethylene comonomers, elastomers and plastomers, and agrochemicals.
