Dimethyl Isosorbide

Dimethyl Isosorbide is a non-ionic solvent that is highly miscible with most surfactants, co-solvents, colorants, and peptides. DMI is soluble in many ingredients including water, cottonseed oil, isopropanol, isopropyl myristate, propylene glycol, polysorbate 20, and polysorbate 80; It is insoluble in hydrogenated castor oil, lanolin, mineral oils or silicone oil. It is FDA approved up to 15% in topical over-the-counter products.
