Fatty Acid Ethoxylates

Fernfat Fatty Acid Ethoxylates are nonionic surfactants produced by ethoxylation of fatty acids derived from saturated or unsaturated animal or vegetable fats.  These fatty acid compounds are composed of coconut oil, tall oil, stearic, oleic, and lauryl fatty acid.  The differentiation between the alkyl chain and polyoxyethylene chain length gives the ethoxylated fatty acid diverse lipophilic/hydrophilic balance (HLB) characteristics.

At low ethoxylation degrees, the Fernfat Fatty Acid Ethoxylate series of products are oil soluble and perform well as lubricants and anti-static agents.  Medium degrees of ethoxylation result in ethoxylated fatty acid materials with high surface activity and provide superior hydrophile/lipophile balance (HLB) for use in detergents and cleaning agents.  The Fernfat products with high degrees of ethoxylation are great solubilizers and dispersing agents for oil-in–water emulsions.
