Job Summary:
This role will
spend the first 6–12 months working closely alongside the CSR team, developing
a collaborative foundation and gaining a deep understanding of clients, their
processes, and operational needs. As this knowledge is built, the role will
gradually transition into expanded sales responsibilities. With a strong client
and industry foundation in place, the Junior Sales Development Representative will
begin managing a small portfolio of new and existing clients, identifying
opportunities, and supporting business growth.
The Junior
Sales Development Representative is responsible for driving new business across
a wide range of markets and industry segments, including Coatings, Resins,
Plastics, Adhesives, Cleaners, Personal Care, Metal Working, and Agricultural
Chemicals. This role owns sales strategies within assigned product lines, leads
new client acquisition, and develops additional revenue within existing
accounts. The ideal candidate is results-driven, relationship-focused, and
motivated by building long-term partnerships with prospective clients, current
customers, industry partners, and vendors.
Location:
Silver Fern Chemical is headquartered in beautiful Santa Barbara,
CA, and this role would work on-site in our corporate offices.
Role Objectives:
● This role will
initially shadow and work closely with the CSR team to gain a deep
understanding of Silver Fern’s workflows, and processes.
● Represent the company’s
products and services, using comprehensive industry knowledge to explain how
our products meet customer needs.
● Achieve sales results
by creating selling strategies, targeting sales goals, and analyzing
performance data.
● Develop trusted
relationship by offering product and service expertise, and maintaining
consistent communication with prospects and customers.
• Expand our market
presence and provide strategic insights to company leadership on trends and
market feedback.
Responsibilities:
●
Collaborate closely with the CSR
team to develop a strong understanding of each client, their unique needs, and
their operational processes.
●
Manage sales opportunities through
the full sales cycle (concept to closing) with our range of specialty chemical
products.
●
Cold calling will be a key
responsibility. Candidate will need to be comfortable with rejection etc.
●
Using a consultative selling
approach, identify sourcing opportunities for new products that provide
strategic value for our customers and our business.
●
Implement sales development
campaigns by performing targeted sales calls, interacting primarily with
product end-users and technical/R&D personnel.
●
Respond to inquiries and leads to
provide technical support and documentation to prospects, ultimately converting
them to customers.
●
Use consultative selling skills and
active listening to identify new product opportunities and engineer solutions
for the customer.
●
Document all sales activity in the
CRM software (e-Chempax) and use business insights to generate growth
opportunities.
●
Collaborate with product managers
and sourcing teams to develop creative and optimized customer solutions.
●
Support with general marketing
needs, including digital marketing efforts.
●
Performs other assignments as
directed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
●
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical
Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related field preferred.
●
One or more years of sales, industry,
product experience is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with
experience in the chemical industry over years of sales experience.
●
Strong desire to grow within the
chemical sales industry.
●
Ability to work autonomously, or
with a team.
●
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
●
Confidence in approaching and
collaborating with prospects and customers, with strong interpersonal skills.

Pay & Benefits:

Job Type: Hourly
●
Base Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 annually
+ Quarterly Commissions
●
