Sodium xylene sulfonate (SXS) is used in liquid detergents, heavy-duty cleaners, dishwashing liquids, and hard surface cleaners. It is also used in shampoos and conditioners as a wetting agent and claritant to help the formula spread more easily.
Sodium xylene sulfonate is used in degreasing compounds and printing pastes in the textile industry. It's also used in the paper industry to extract pentosans and lignin, and in the leather industry as a glue additive.
